More life in ditches and ponds

And gerd schaar the category of third-order water in the city and country extends from the small ditch to the stream. Some of these are in a deplorable condition. Crammed into narrow channels or with insurmountable ledges for small animals, their natural habitat leaves much to be desired. This also affects their retention function against floods. Agricultural manure in the riparian areas is also detrimental to the water quality.

This constellation not infrequently contradicts the bavarian water act. Hammelburg and wartmannsroth want to act now. They have commissioned a water development concept from the buro fur ingenieurbiologie und landschaftsplanung (BIL, witzenhausen).

The experts presented the project to the city and town councils on monday evening. There was also praise for really beautiful shore areas, where there is nothing to improve.

How chic living space grows in barns

How chic living space grows in barns

Colorful pictures presented by city planner franz ullrich to the iphof building committee on monday evening under the rather dope title of "barn concept. They showed how new residential worlds could look in the hellmitzheim district if the "urban development guidelines" were right. The idea is to designate "building plots without building areas", namely on inner-city terrain that is no longer needed by agriculture. In this way, flat areas could be saved in the eaves area. The building committee was open to ullrich’s suggestions.

Hellmitzheim is the iphof district that is still most strongly influenced by agriculture. Some time ago, the city launched a demand program to encourage farmers to relocate barns and farms to the aube area. Conflicts with the residential population should thus be more or less ruled out. But it also poses a problem: what to do with the rough yards in the village, which are now empty and no longer used? The city planner’s concept was expected to give the responsible parties answers, and on monday they received them.

Decisive added value for building owners

Ullrich’s core idea is to offer everything with the plots in the village center that the developer would also find in the new development area, but to create a decisive added value: a barn or an outbuilding for hobby use, for example as a workshop or parking space for oldtimers. "What is a burden for the current owner could be a pleasure for the new owner," ullrich said.

Not all schnapps is the same

Not all schnapps is the same

When it comes to schnapps, herbert steinlein knows no mercy. "Whoever dumps it in won't get a second one", says the neufanger innkeeper and makes it clear that the guest who drinks the distillate in one go and does not enjoy it will be punished. Craft errors should also be avoided as far as possible. Poured cold, the brandy loses its aroma. "That is why schnapps should only be drunk at room temperature", steinlein emphasizes that schnapps should never be enjoyed with beer, but only with water, and possibly also with a cup of black coffee.

The radical upheaval

Steinlein's schnaps are known far beyond the county borders. The brewing right of the family dates back to 1794. "The distilling right for floury and non-floury materials, i.E. Brandy from cereals or fruit, allows us to produce 300 liters of vinous spirit per year", explains the 64-year-old, who in 1983 initiated a radical change in the long-standing tradition of distilling. Since then, only spontaneous firing has taken place. "It is a very difficult, but the most natural way to distill fruit brandy", says the host. The alcohol, aroma and flavor are extracted from the fruit alone. "We do not add any additives of any kind. Whoever drinks our schnapps drinks pure fruit." He praises the longevity of the taste as a quality feature: "with perfumed schnapps, the first olfactory impression is usually more intense and fruity, but it also quickly dissipates because it is only put on."
Pure nature – this is the motto of the neufanger distillery, which uses only its own fruit. In 1994, a meadow orchard was planted and gradually extended, a good 500 meters as the crow flies from the inn. Herbert steinlein: "we have now planted around 210 fruit trees: apple, pear, cherry, rowan, plum, quince, mirabelle and medlar."
Before the actual distillation, manual work is required. The fruit is harvested by the family and then sorted out. "There must be no rotten fruit, stalks or leaves in it. This is decisive for the later quality of the fire, which then also does not "scratch" with us, female herbert steinlein, who, after painstakingly sorting out the fruit, mashes it, i.E. Seals it airtight in a barrel with a cooking bung. In the later brewing process, the mash is then heated in a copper kettle.

Who will win the winner’s board?

Who will win the winner's board?

The kleinkunst-brettla ends the year with a highlight. On saturday, 25. November, the final of the fourth small arts and cabaret award "kulmbacher brettla" takes place. The following four top-class artists are nominated for the final: nora boeckler, stefan kroll, sertac mutlu and henning schmidtke.

The public decides

The prize is endowed with 2400 euro. The winner will receive 1,200 euros, the runner-up 600 euros and places 3 and 4 300 euros each. Each nominee plays in about 30 minutes for the favor of the spectators. The audience will then decide (by secret ballot) at the end of the evening on the ranking.
This charming format has been preserved – and when do you ever see four artists on one stage in one evening?. Moderated by KKB chairman manfred spindler. Last year christine eixenberger won the competition, she is now a well-known tv artist. This year, there were over 70 applications from germany, austria, switzerland and the czech republic. This shows that competition is now perceived internationally.

The finalists

In her first solo program "spab ist mir ernst" (spab is serious to me) nora boeckler captivates with intelligent humor. With a talent for transformation and self-irony, nora introduces us to unique characters in an entertaining way: from her swabian mother, whose goal is to finally get her married, to the full-blooded therapist wiebke wagner, to jaqueline alias chucky, the next star in the casting show sky, and many more.
Stefan kroll presents himself as a connoisseur of bavarian history in his program "gruam"- bavaria from below!" When one thinks of bavaria, one likes to think of a woman-blue sky, grassy pastures in front of an alpine panorama, or glittering lakes. Very few people think of a "gruam. Dim, musty, mysterious. One could also say: the crap that falls through the cracks, that which is gladly suppressed or even hushed up. Yet it is precisely the abysmal that exerts such a rough fascination. Kroll has courageously placed himself at the edge of forbidden abysses, dared a look into deep cellars or behind polished backdrops, even sometimes with a glass in his hand.
Sertac mutlu is a real surprise package. For the young kolner inspires from the first moment with his variety on the stage. With his talent for slipping into different roles, he lets the audience discover people we all know – whether the typical don man or pumped-up gym owner. And despite everything, his observations sit far from all cliches. A stand-up comedian for every generation.
The piano virtuoso henning schmidtke presents a decelerated cabaret program ("hetzkasper – zu blod fur burnout") about the stuff life is made of: time. Always fairly distributed, because everyone has exactly the same amount: 24 hours a day. But are we still in the right movie if we want to invest, win, save time? Those who can't keep up with the pace and end up in hospital at least still have an intelligent body that has seen through the madness of life. The others continue and become a hothead.

Automotive industry faces difficult transition

Germany is still a car country – politicians and industry want to secure the future: a leading role in autonomous driving, more speed for a customer-friendly charging network for e-cars and better data exchange with other traffic carriers.

These are the core objectives of the "auto summit" with chancellor angela merkel (CDU) and representatives from politics and business on tuesday evening. The rough hook: the industry is in a deep crisis. Medium-sized suppliers in particular are hanging on to the burner. They are in danger of running out of money – and the strength to invest in the future – because of the sales slump in the corona pandemic. Jobs are at stake. An overview:

“Disaster for the environment”: wurzburger klarwerk warns against toilet paper alternatives

March 29, 2022
No Comments

The corona crisis has led to an unprecedented rush for toilet paper. From february to march 2020, for example, there was a 700 percent increase in sales. Rough quantities were hoarded, the shelves were regularly cleared of stock. But while toilet paper is plentiful, many households are turning to alternatives, creating problems for municipal utilities and clearing plants.

The city of wurzburg addressed this very issue in a press release. The report calls for the avoidance of additional problems caused by the increased use of cake, paper or moist towelettes by households.

Toilet paper alternatives cause blockages

The material from which toilet paper alternatives such as cake, paper bags and wet wipes are made is problematic. Classic toilet paper grinds up quickly and can be easily filtered, but this is not the case with wet wipes. Therefore, blockages in the own household or in the sewerage system are possible.

No more valid water permits for 40 years

March 29, 2022

The municipality of unterleinleiter has no longer had water permits for one discharge point for mixed water and eleven discharge points for rainwater into the sewer system, in some cases for 40 years. However, this permit is required in order to discharge wastewater or precipitation water from a sewer system into a receiving water body.

The fact that these permits have long since expired was only now discovered during the review of the dischargers into the ebermannstadt clarification plant. For the municipality of unterleinleiter, this now means that no valid decisions are available and documents for the application of a restricted water law permit must be prepared and submitted by the end of the year. And this in turn can be expensive for the municipality, because then possibly also tree removals must take place.

First, however, an investigation is necessary. For this was unanimously commissioned the office weyrauther after an offer in the amount of no more than 5000 euros gross. The lawyer in the council, ernst konig (DWV), was very surprised, because these discharge points have existed for a long time. The fact that water permits expire after 20 years and then have to be renewed is a mechanism that has been known for a long time, according to konig, who emphasized: "I was shocked by the whole thing."

Strabenfasching in steinach: bees, bramen, brexit

Strabenfasching in steinach: bees, bramen, brexit

Norbert borst, third mayor of the market town of bad bocklet, and local spokesman uto-paul schmitt run through all the floats, fub groups and bands before the carnival procession. It takes them three quarters of an hour to explain security to the participants. They point out, for example, not to serve alcohol to young people under 16 and explain how to secure the cars so that nothing happens. "Four people should accompany a car, two in the front and two in the back", says borst. The attendants must take care that the spectators at the side of the road do not get too close to the vehicles and get hurt.

It’s no coincidence that representatives from the town hall and local council are concerned about safety instruction. In steinach, it is not the clubs that organize the parade, but the municipality that is still responsible. "We have said we want to support this and maintain it as a community responsibility", says borst. After all, the parade, with 41 cars, fub and music groups, is one of the coarser ones in the county and accordingly attracts many visitors from outside the county.

Hundreds of visitors joined in the celebrations at the side of the road again this year. Apart from the announced rewe supermarket with its controversial location at the aschach traffic circle, there was little local color to be seen. Instead, the jesters made fun of crude politics, from brexit to the petition for a referendum on biodiversity. Most groups focused on general themes and colorful costumes. In addition to the clubs from steinach, groups from munnerstadt, reichenbach, nudlingen and sandberg, among others, were represented.

The concertante landpartie was a pleasure

the concertante landpartie was a pleasure

The summer concert of the bavarian chamber orchestra in bad bruckenau, which this year was aptly titled "landpartie," was completely sold out stand. The more than 300 listeners enjoyed a varied, coherent program, heard an excellently prepared orchestra, impressive soloists and experienced a good two hours of colorfully played music in a summery atmosphere.
The title was aptly chosen in that, for long stretches of the evening, french horns – at times obviously, at other times with an underground presence – were at the center of the music. Above all, through their special sound, through the use of hunting and nature motifs in a broader sense, the compositions led out into the open, creating a variety of scenes in the mind of the listener. The friendly atmosphere of the evening and the summer air, which flowed into the warm festival hall through doors open to the park, underlined this effect. As is customary at the BKO's seasonal concerts, its chief conductor johannes moesus gave a brief introduction to the works played, which was helpful in directly grasping the musical associations or interpretations during listening.

The continuation of the chase
The structure of franz anton hoffmeister's symphony in d major "la chasse for example, in which the dawn's departure, the midday's mud, the encouraging musical entertainment and the continuation of the hunt were quite comprehensible. A delicate, darkly luminous sound stood at their beginning. But soon a variety of sounds and impressions developed from it: horn quints, for example, played by the orchestra's own horn players and strengthened by the woodwinds, which transformed these signal calls sonically into chamber music-compatible motifs; they were wonderfully shaped as calls and echoes, were equally perfectly executed in color and precision in the forte and the piano. Strings suggested the sound of hooves, horns the barking of dogs. The orchestra set up quasi backdrops in the four movements, which it shifted imperceptibly through different lighting and the building of suspense arcs to expressive points, thus creating fabulous transitions in subject and mood. The bandwidth of the flexible musicians ranged from powerful grun to silver-pencil insinuation.

Visible joy of playing
Fascinating rushing of string figures, stimulating dialogues, touching, elegant flute solos, bucolic bordune and much smiling on the faces of the performers, in addition the changes between soft, powerful sound and rather tight, tender, always clear sound, the difference between warm string sound and the distinctive, fine woodwind part in the menuet, which turned into an airy serenade, inspired.
Nature, which also included joseph haydn's symphony in G major "le soir" the evening was rounded off with the performance of a certain piece of music, which gave numerous members of the ensemble the opportunity to introduce themselves as soloists. Besides the enchanting bassoon/cello dialogues, the imaginary meeting of papageno with antonio vivaldi, the storm that the flute suggests in the last movement, the dark clouds that the horns paint on the horizon and the rain that the cello creates, the impressive orchestral unisoni or the fascination of seemingly chaotic but actually orderly runs, one thing in particular remained in the mind: the double bass solo with charming cadenza, played by matej varga in the menuet. The young double bass player, who had stepped in at very short notice to replace the BKO bassist, became a favorite of the audience – and not just because of his precision, his joyful and gripping way of playing.
He shared this distinction with the two guest soloists premysl vojta and ondrej vrabec, who were invited to perform antonio rosetti's concerto for two horns and orchestra in F major.
A highly demanding work for the horn players, during which one was repeatedly amazed at how one can play such complicated, intertwined, rapid figures with such intonation certainty, such rhythmic precision, and with such tonal and technical perfection. The horns stood out roundly and powerfully from the sound of the orchestra, which here was that of a small symphony orchestra. Captivating introductions, lively dialogues, the imperceptible adoption and continuation of a thought begun by a soloist, or the cheerful playing of sequences to each other: listening to the well-matched musicians vojta and vrabec was a pleasure. The cadenza, composed by vrabec with stylistic confidence, deserves special recognition, not only because it makes imaginative use of rosetti material, but also because it is set in an already fantastic sounding register and is so elaborate that one occasionally thought one was hearing more than two horns.

Ihk misses solutions for energy turnaround

As an "important basis for action for the development of germany in the next four years" IHK president friedrich herdan describes the present coalition agreement between the CDU, CSU and SPD. However, one can see "light and shadow", according to a statement.

A positive aspect, according to herdan, is that the future government does not want to "turn the tax screw"." Because further cost burdens for companies at this point in time would weaken the competitiveness and innovative strength of germany as a business location. The planned increase in funding for the expansion of transport routes is also positive, the president added: "investments in a high-performance transport infrastructure are urgently needed to maintain the future viability of economic areas, especially far from conurbations." To reduce the "nationwide investment backlog" but further "efforts are needed to find sources of financing". Whether he means the car toll, he leaves open.

From the point of view of the business community, the commitment to dual vocational training and a stronger link between vocational and academic education is also gratifying: "we see this as an important measure to counter the shortage of skilled workers in regions outside the metropolitan areas." On the other hand, the coalition agreement on the energy turnaround "only provides inadequate solutions" pointed out. The coalition agreement does focus on security of supply and the affordability of electricity. "However, the costs for the economy and consumers will continue to grow in view of the m decreases that have become apparent so far."
